What kind of cricut vinyl do you use on canvas?

Be sure to use Oracle 651 vinyl. This is a permanent adhesive vinyl and really works best to stick it on canvas or wood. I used white adhesive vinyl with a matte finish and cut the words with my Silhouette. You can use any Silhouette vinyl or cricut vinyl to make this project, but be sure to use permanent adhesive vinyl.

Once the words were cut, I removed the excess vinyl and used contact paper to transfer the vinyl to a dry canvas. The vinyl can be glued to the canvas, as long as you take your time to prepare and apply it correctly. Before you begin, make sure you use high quality, commercial grade vinyl. Using thick, sticky vinyl will not only make application easier, but will also help your crafts and signs last longer.

For over a decade, I’ve been sharing Cricut tutorials and craft ideas here, as well as on my YouTube channel. So, what is the best Cricut vinyl on canvas? In fact, I have personally used both in some canvas projects. If you use a Cricut EasyPress 2 and Cricut Everyday iron-on vinyl, you won’t need to use a Teflon sheet or other press cloth. You can upload one of your own SVG files, use my SVG file, or select one from the Cricut Access library.

I’ll show you how to transform an inexpensive craft store canvas into custom wall art with the help of iron-on vinyl and your reliable Cricut cutter. For this project, you can use Silhouette vinyl or Cricut vinyl, just make sure you permanently use Silhouette vinyl or Cricut vinyl to make this project, but be sure to use permanent adhesive vinyl. Today I will show you how to add a design with iron-on vinyl (also known as HTV), a Cricut cutting machine and my free botanical print SVG file.
